ANTI-AGING SERUM

I like this Anti-aging serum recipe.   You really have to determine what you want in your recipes.  So, I sometimes take out and ingredient or add an ingredient to it.  For example, I put Vitamin E in just about EVERYTHING I make!  I also like this receipe because it’s simple and doesn’t use a bunch of fancy ingredients.  Simple is better.  Feta is betta too!  🙂  Sometimes, I think I’m funny.

LOTION

DIY Lotion – I love this lotion recipe.  It worked like a charm for me.  I used Apricot Oil instead of Sweet Almond Oil because I don’t like to put nuts in my recipes because so many people are allergic to nuts.  Plus, Apricot Oil is more absorbing and less greasy.  This recipe is simple and it tells you step by step how to make it.  I would not use the “NOW” essential oil brand.  I would use DoTerra Essential Oil because it is therapeutic.  Also, I didn’t need the pipetts and didn’t use the carrot seed Oil, although, I have been hearing more and more about carrot seed oil.  It was getting to be too many ingredients for my taste so I eliminated the carrot seed oil.

LIPS

I tried making this lip balm and it turned out real well.  I didn’t make exactly like the recipe.  I didn’t add the Castor Oil and it ended up needing to be a little more slippery across the lips when putting it on.  I also added a tsp of Vitamin E oil to my mixture.  I used Shea instead of Cocoa butter.  The Coconut Oil over powers the scent so you might want to use an essential oil in place of the Castor Oil.

DEODORANT

I found a few receipes for deodorant.  Here is one from Dr. Axe.  It’s very simple.  I like simple.  However, there other recipes.  I like Wellness Mama and The Nerdy Farm Wife sites.  The deodorant from the Nerdy Farm Wife is just a bit too many ingredients for my taste but looks really pure which I love.

**Always remember that your homemade products will NOT last as long on the shelf as store bought products.  So, use the stuff you make.  Also, if you give away your products you make, encourage them also to use it up and don’t let it sit on the shelf too long.  It gets a rancid, funky odor.
